Music Reviews

“Find The Stars is more than just an extremely well written song. It’s an uplifting message that we all need in these challenging times. The combination of music and lyrics provoke a sense of hope and belief while remaining strong throughout. VERY catchy hooks, great feel and some of Nashville’s finest players to compliment Terry’s emotional vocal performance. It was a pleasure to mix and master and be part of Terry’s newest journey! ” - Jeff Silverman

— ~Jeff Silverman - Palette Music Studio Productions (MSP) Mt. Juliet, TN.

““‘Find The Stars’ is the song this turbulent world needs right now. Its message of resilience and hope has been sorely missing from the airwaves. Terry Bell has put his compassionate heart on his sleeve to deliver a powerful, life-affirming message everyone should heed.” ” - Brent Adams

— Brent Adams, Host of the Fast Line, Fast Track radio show and pod cast

“Very sensitive performance and super production! Good song too.!!!” - Misha Segal

Bio & Terry Bell's videos

Terry Bell WAS BORN A DREAMER ;  He has been on a journey to find his place in the universe; following his heart and sharing his music and natural talents that the lord gave him to  make a difference in the world.

he started down that path when he was 5 years old singing his first solo  on the radio for a church service in his home town of grand forks, north dakota where he grew up.

His mom bought terry his first acoustic guitar, a stella, that she got from saving green stamps from the local m & h gas station when he was thirteen. he was a quick leaner and began to write  his first songs.  she bought him an electric guitar and he started his first band, ' the night raiders ', patterned after one of his favorite pop and rock bands he was a big fan of,  ' paul revere & the raiders ' . he spend all of learning to play  all  of the songs by beatles,  The monkees  ,  hollies, rolling stones and loved the pop and the mowtown groups from the 60's.

Terry graduated from  Central High School in 1970 and left home to pursue his love and the  passion of songwriting and performing his music in clubs, bars, and coffee houses in the north beach area of san francisco and playing music on the street on fisherman's wharf  with his friend michael carney who he met in berkeley who was also from north dakota.

terry and Michael performed as the duo ' Dakotah and decided to move to santa cruz  were they developed a following in local bar's and restaraunt's including; The Catalyst , crows nest, positively front street and other hot spots in the area until they moved up the coast to find a home in eugene, oregon where they added new members to the band and become one of the top regional country rock bands and were loved by their fans and the club owners.

dakotah was a featured act at the oregon country fair and opened shows for  Artists like robert cray ,elvin bishop, country joe and the fish, steppenwolf, head east, david la flame and david bromberg.

terry left the band to pursue a  career in songwrting with the hopes of getting his songs recorded by major label artists. he moved to new york city and started to drop off demo tapes to the labels in  Manhattan and started playing  at songwriters nights , and was a featured performer at the ' Rusty  Scupper ', Strawberry's , ' Hofstra  University' and Performed in  restaurants and well known  night spots including  ' My Fathers Place ' where billy joel got his start.

hE MOVED FROM  nEW yORK TO  cOLORADO AND LIVED IN gREELEY and found an audience to play for there and  got an opportunity to enter a talent competition through a local country radio station who was hosting  'the Wrangler Country showdown' . He Won the local competition but lost in the finals.   even though he lost he still believed  in his heart that was a place for his songs that he took a leap of faith and sent some of his originals to  the producers  of ' You Can Be a star '  (TNN) The Nashville  NeTWORK .  aS FATE WOULD HAVE IT THE SHOW WAS CANCELLED THE WEEK HE WAS SCHEDULED TO PERFORM .  tHE pRODUCERS OF THE SHOW WERE IMPRESSED BY tERRY'S  VOCALS AND SONGWRITING THAT THEY DECIDED TO OFFER HIM A SPOT ON ANOTHER tnn sHOW THEY WERE CASTING FOR  ' AN AMERICAN MAGAZINE '.  The show was featuring up and coming songwriters. he was interviewed by the hosts and performed 2 of his songs , Glass Heart , and  Eye of the Storm,  it was his first appearance in front of a national TV AUDIENCE, They LOVED TERRY'S STORY AND HIS MUSIC.

Having tasted a little Success he decided to move to Nashville were he found some open doors and started to write  with local established songwriters ; Jennifer Pierce who wrote  ' That Old WHeel '  recorded by Johnny Cash, Bill Hall , the writer OF THE #1 COUNTRY SONG ' Love is a Foundation' for Loretta Lynn  who worked her company  Coal Miner's Music, Bill introduced Terry to Loretta back stage at the Grand Ole Opry and from that meeting  Terry and Bill started writing together for her company.  He  quickly became part of the music community writing with other music row writers and up and coming artists, he met  'Tracy Lawrence ' when he first moved to town. they became friends are started writing together.  He co-wrote 3 songs with Tracy that he performed on the Sunday Night Radio Show from Libby's Steak house where tracy was discovered by a talent scout for Atlantic Records and was signed to the label. tracy's showcase at the BLUEBIRD CAFE FEATURED 3 OF THE SONGS THEY WROTE.

Though Tracy Never Recorded any of the songs they wrote together , Terry Continued to find favor and open ears with music publishers and a new audience that liked terry's music and were drawn to his down to earth personality.

since moving to nashville  he's had  many of song's recorded and CHARTED including;  2 #1 songs , top 3# ,  Top #5, and top #40 in the positive country and indy country charts .  His song ' Take it to the Maker ' that he co-wrote with Michael Grimm was a #1 song in the christian country charts and  his fun uptempo song  he wrote with  Jake Cauley , hit #1 in the new music weekly country charts in 2018.  He Co-wrote and produced  Texas Country Artists bOBBY mARQUEZ'S  FIRST RADIO SINGLE ' TOUCH OF A WOMAN' THAT LANDED IN THE TOP 40 OF THE tEXAS mUSIC Charts.
